5 Years Since Hurricane Charlie
It is just so hard to believe. Peter was working for NBC and was called to 12 hour shifts. I'll never forget having a house full of friends, kids, animals. Peter called from Punta Gorda crying. "Get to a shelter now!" He was with reporter Mike Mason just before the building collapsed! We took off to the shelter and the shelter was full! They directed us to Cape High School where we stayed until Charlie passed. The next week consisted no air conditioning and no hubby. He was asked to produce the 1 hour long Hurricane Charlie Special that ran on NBC (maybe ABC too if I remember correctly). They also sold the DVD as a fundraiser to help victims of Charlie.
